Optimus 3.1 general availability announced

Sharp Peak Consulting Limited today announced the general availability of Optimus 3.1, the latest release of its workplace and building intelligence platform. 3.1 is built for operators who already run the building: one portal for occupancy IoT, booking, visitors and hardware expansion — on-premise, private cloud or public cloud, with the same feature set.

The headline of this release is Optimus Marketplace: facilities teams order sensors, LoRaWAN gateways and floor packs from inside the admin portal, ship them preconfigured for the site, and optionally book certified installation. Day-1 becomes verification, not a second provisioning project.

Alan Yeung, Chief Technology Officer, said: “The stack that powers 3.1 is the same on-premise core we run for campuses and enterprises: live telemetry in Redis, long-horizon history in QuestDB, ChirpStack for LoRaWAN, BACnet for actuation, and Logic Studio for sensor-to-actuator flows. Marketplace is the last mile — DevEUIs and AppKeys land in the network server before the carton arrives.”

What is new and distinctive in 3.1

Optimus Marketplace (new)
Browse sensors, coverage-aware gateways and curated floor bundles next to Devices. Bind each order to organisation, building and floor. Provision ChirpStack profiles and keys before shipment. Pin devices to desks and rooms on the floor plan. Optional install: after-hours windows and a live crew checklist. Checkout supports organisation billing, purchase order or card, with cost centre and approver inside Optimus. Coverage and booking signals recommend the next sensors; RSSI dead zones become a one-click order fix. Arrivals appear in Devices as Arriving, then go live when telemetry starts.

One host, three operator experiences (Admin V2)
The same admin URL resolves by role: full facilities console; an Office shell for staff and students (my bookings, book, check-in, history, quota); and a Café / pantry shell for catering fulfilment (orders today, week ahead, menu) without exposing IoT or user admin.

Simple vs Pro (full admin)

Simple keeps bookings, spaces, smart rules and settings — the Monday-morning facilities surface. Pro unlocks the engine room listed below. Office and Café shells ignore the toggle.

• Alert rules — threshold and schedule rules, public-holiday calendars (HK / SG / AU presets plus custom days), email and push

• ML Advisor — statistical anomaly and trend analysis on live estates

• Sensor analytics & TSDB query — multi-panel reports with XLSX / CSV / PDF export; ad-hoc QuestDB SQL in admin

• Users, audit, floor-plan edit — directory, change history, canvas plans (zones, walls, backgrounds)

• Marketplace preconfiguration & coverage assistant — site-bound fulfilment and RSSI-driven hardware recommendations

Core platform (all tiers, including Simple): hot-desk and room booking with quotas and no-show / auto-release rules; QR and walk-in check-in on Display panels; Microsoft 365 room calendars; OAuth2 / OIDC / LDAP / Active Directory with auto-provisioning; cloud, on-premise or hybrid.

On-premise 3.1 continues the compression and density story from 2.0: time-series designed to run on limited hardware (indicative: ~100 occupancy and IAQ sensors at one-minute interval ≈ 6 GB per year).

Availability

Optimus 3.1 is generally available to existing Optimus tenants and new deployments from 28 September 2026. Marketplace catalogue, lead times and installation coverage vary by region.
